Welcome To My Piece Of The Web
This is the quilt that started it all for me, Charleston Beckonings.  Six years ago, I was asked to design the donation quilt for our quilt show in Charleston.  Previously, I had made lots of quilts but I had never made a large one entirely from an original perspective.  And I didn't know I could actually do it, until I tried!  Since our guild is in Charleston, SC, I decided that the quilt should reflect our local environment.  I started with a palmetto tree, which is our state tree, and then went on to choose other elements--such as a loggerhead turtle and magnolias--that would further enhance the theme.  The result was life-altering.  The entire direction of my quilting changed.   Now I focus far more on interpreting my environment in fabric and sharing that vision with others.
Welcome.

Quilts From The Earth
The year 2009 was a momentous one for me as we moved back to the mountains of North Carolina--which I love so much.   It is a great place to be a quilt artist.  There are so many gifted artisans throughout the entire mountain area and the climate is just about perfect.  However, after spending a year in  Hendersonville, it became necessary for us to move back to the Charleston area.  It was a difficult decision, but the right one.  I have reconnected with a lot of quilters and have come to appreciate even more the opportunites that I have there to grow in my craft and share ideas with fellow artists.  It's good to be back home!
